Trumpet???

I have been playing the calrinet and the piano for many years, so I have a lot of euphonious background, but I am just learning to play the trumpet. Do you have any tips for starting off on the right foot or any tips about embochure. The embochure is actually what I am getting used to because the clarinet embochure is so much different. Thnx so much!

Some things to call to mind are make sure the mouth piece is centered on your mouth (make sure it is not off to one side or something weird like that. You can look in a reproduction to check). Also (this really bad habit by ALL starting brass players) do NOT push the instrument against your lips to get the high notes to be awarded pounce on out. You need to use more air and move your air faster. hope i've helped. ^^
