no, not dextral. using the elliptical is a LOT less effective than running. running is definitely the best cardio exercise you can do. using the elliptical is safe for your upper legs but won't help much with endurance even if you do it for a long time. if all you want to do is exercise your butt and upper legs, the elliptical is permissible for that. but i'm assuming you want to build endurance and get leaner running is best, swimming is good too
